For a relatively small outlay you could buy a CashDrawer to work
with Resident Pro. In effect, this turns your computer into a reception till. It
makes "cash handling" more secure - each time you receipt a bill, the CashDrawer
automatically opens.

The Call Logger
The Call Logger is part of the
Softwareworks Studio in Resident Pro. It simply listens
out for calls made from most telephone systems, calculates a price for each call made, and pops this charge onto the Resident bill.
You can set your own "price per minute" for local calls, national, international,
mobile, and more. For further details

Models
Most phone systems can output SMDR, and they connect to the computer via an Rs232
serial cable.
The Call Logger works with almost all systems. Those already linked include the
popular LDK100 from LG, the Hicom/Hipath from Siemens, Alcatel's 4220, the NEC Aspire/XN120,
the Super Hybrid from Panasonic, the Avaya Index, Ericcson's BP50/100, Samsung's
Office Serve and Compact2, and BT's Versatility and Meridian One.
